Conversation with God requires that we have something to say to Him concerning our actual life. Prayer is the opening of the heart to God as to a friend. It does not bring God down to us, as it brings us up to God. Jesus is our example: Mark 1:35
Jesus had a habit. His prayer life was so central and powerful, that His disciples asked Him to teach them to pray. If the Savior of men, the Son of God, felt the need of prayer, how much more should we.
Prayer is one of the most perishable commodities that God has given us. If it is destroyed, then we lose our very means of communication with God. Prayer establishes the success or failure of all we do. We should guard and protect it as we would anything else in our lives that we hold dear.
